Harvest Begins on Sunday

We are so excited to announce that after much anticipation our harvest begins on Sunday. Doug Miles anticipates that harvest of our Cayuga white grapes will occur this Sunday.  Next to follow sometime between Wednesday and Friday of the following week will be our Pinot Noir.  It is the most wonderful time of year for us at Miles Wine Cellars. We hope that if you stop by either the tasting room, Stay at the Inn or join us at the café you have an opportunity to see the harvesting taking place. This is a unique operation that only occurs once a year. We can anticipate that over the next month Doug and many of the family members will not get much sleep, as when the crop is ready it is time to harvest. Wisteria Ambrosia

Wisteria Ambrosia In a Blender: 4 oz. Softened Cream Cheese 1 cup Canned Crushed Pineapple 1/4 cup Sour Cream 1 cup Frozen Strawberries 1/4 cup Miles Wine Cellars Wisteria Blush Blend until smooth. In a large bowl mix: 2 cup mini-marshmallows 1 cup Sweetened Flaked Coconut Pour strawberry mixture over this and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight. Miles Wine Peach Shortcake

Miles Wine Peach Shortcake 1 cup Miles Wine Cellars Wisteria 1 cup sugar 8 large peaches, sliced Mix Miles Wine Cellars Wisteria and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Pour over peaches and allow to sit for 1 hour or more. Serve warm or chilled over shortcake, pound cake or angel food cake. Top with real whipped cream, of course.

Miles Wine Cellars Sangria 2 bottles Miles Wine Cellars Wisteria 1 bottle Miles Wine Cellars Cayuga 64 oz. fruit punch 64 oz. grape juice 12 oranges, sliced Chill all ingredients and mix in a large container. We use a 5-gallon water jug. A huge hit at our annual family fiesta.

MIST of the MANSION 1 part ice 1/2 part crushed pineapple, not drained 1/2 part Miles Wine Cellars Ghost Wine 1/4 part powdered sugar Mix all ingredients in blender for 10 seconds. Enjoy! This recipe honors our resident ghosts, which sometimes appear as mist floating through the house.
